Ficus Green Island (Ficus microcarpa) is a compact, bushy plant with thick, glossy, rounded green leaves. Very easy to care for, it thrives in bright indirect to moderate light. Water when the top of the soil dries out.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light. Some types tolerate direct morning sun. Variegated varieties need more light.
  • Watering: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil is dry. Ficus can be sensitive to overwatering. Reduce watering in winter.
  • Soil & Potting: Use a well-draining potting mix. Standard indoor soil with added perlite works well.
  • Temperature & Humidity: Keep between 16–27°C (60–80°F). Moderate humidity preferred. Ficus dislikes being moved — find a good spot and keep it there.
  • Extra Tips: May drop leaves when stressed by changes in environment (normal adjustment). Milky sap can irritate skin.
