- Light: Medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight which fades the beautiful leaf patterns. Tolerates lower light.
- Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Use filtered or distilled water — calatheas are sensitive to fluoride and chlorine in tap water.
- Soil & Potting: Use a well-draining mix with peat moss, perlite, and coco coir. Keep soil airy and moisture-retentive.
- Temperature & Humidity: Keep between 18–24°C (65–75°F). Requires high humidity (60%+). Use a humidifier or group with other plants. Avoid cold drafts.
- Extra Tips: Calathea leaves close at night and open during the day — this is normal 'prayer plant' behavior. Brown leaf edges usually indicate low humidity.
