Hoya finlaysonii nova
Price
$30.00
This Hoya is relatively easy to care for indoors, requiring conditions similar to other tropical houseplants.
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some shade, but adequate light is essential for optimal leaf color and to encourage flowering.
- Soil: Requires a well-draining, chunky soil mix, such as an orchid mix or a blend of bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss, as it is susceptible to root rot in clogged soil.
- Watering: The plant should be watered thoroughly, but allowed to dry out completely between waterings to prevent overwatering.
- Temperature & Humidity: Thrives in average household temperatures between 18–27°C (65–80°F) and moderate to high humidity. It is not cold-hardy and should be protected from temperatures below 10°C (50°F).

Care tips
- Light: Bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some morning direct sun. Avoid harsh afternoon sun which can burn leaves.
- Watering: Allow the top 50% of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter. Hoyas prefer to be slightly underwatered than overwatered.
- Soil & Potting: Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix — orchid bark, perlite, and peat moss work well. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.
- Temperature & Humidity: Keep between 15–27°C (60–80°F). Hoyas enjoy moderate to high humidity (50–70%). Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C.
- Extra Tips: Hoyas are epiphytic and love to climb or trail. Do not remove old flower peduncles — they will bloom again from the same spot.
